Friday 4 November - 19:00-21:00 - Vital Life-Better Sleep: Stress management

This evening workshop deals directly with the modern plague of sleeplessness and stress.  In America, the Center for Disease Control has declared sleep disorder an epidemic, and this is happening in industrial cities across the world. This workshop will help you re-think your priorities and give you knowledge to take home with you to help you sleep and live more at ease. We begin with a lecture, and then move into a gentle restorative sequence of postures and movement that immediately trigger deep relaxation. Simple, powerful, accessible. Bring writing materials.

Saturday, 5 November - 9:30-11:30 - Opening the body – and finding your Emotions

This movement workshop begins very gently and then builds momentum.  At the apex we move directly into a special sequence of postures that open the internal body to induce an emotional sense of release, bring the mind into stillness and the body into a new state of energy.  This class is both challenging and very healing.

There’s a time for talking, and there’s a time to let our breath work for us and go beyond what we can rationally grasp to release our congested emotions from stress, depression, anxiety, or PTS. Emotions affect our breathing, for example: crying and laughing. But did you know that changing the pattern of our breathing influences our emotions? An innovative method, simple techniques, and incredible results. The practices you will learn in this workshop take you to a calm and inspired state with new depths of insight. Just as hydrogen and oxygen, depending on how they are mixed together, can produce either fire or water, posture practice and intention and breath depending on how they are mixed together can produce either “just exercise,” or can revolutionize our lives. This graceful Inner Axis workshop begins very gently and then builds momentum. At the apex of heat and breath we move directly into a special sequence of postures, which bring the mind into stillness and the body into a new state of energy. This class is both challenging and very healing.

Sunday, 6 November - 13:00-15:00 - The Secret of Using Movement & Postures to find Calm every time

The intent of our practice is not only to increase our strength and flexibility, but also to promote health and vitality. But the next layer is to transform our thoughts from chaos to a quiet stillness. A sense of arriving home. Experience Max Strom’s unique practice that will enhance your strength, and yet bring you to a profound state of stillness. Class will include a talk, inner axis yoga, wisdom beyond the mat, breathing patterns, and focus exercises. Anyone interested in these techniques for their own practice is invited.
