Yin & Yang Life Dance - Enhance Joy, Release Stress, Restore Balance

Discover the balance of yin and yang with Denise & Dervilla

This workshop encourages people to reflect on their stress responses (effectively their coping with situations) and to engage with their active and still mind and body. It is a platform for increasing awareness, change and potential for santosha (contentment).

The mind can feel unsafe when stress is activated due to the flight or fight response, causing the body to feel stressed even in everyday situations that do not require such a response.

This session will:

·        Bring awareness that stress is a normal coping response. This workshop will share yoga practices to return the body to a calm state.

·        Bring discernment between active and still states, becoming aware of that switch between these states in our daily lives.

·        Use Hatha and Yin yoga practices that aim to be fun, cultivate mental calmness, balance, and emotional stability, self-compassion, and contentment.

This workshop is ideal for people who:

- Want to take a deeper dive into their yoga practice and personal well-being

- Are curious about how yoga influences the body, mind, and nervous system

- Would like practical tools to better cope with daily stress

About Us:

We’re Dervilla and Denise — two yoga teachers with backgrounds in health, psychology, and research. Long-time friends, we reconnected through a shared love of yoga, nature, and the belief that caring for ourselves can be joyful and nourishing, not a chore.

Our workshops blend yoga, yin, breathwork, meditation, wholesome food, countryside retreats, and gentle and joyful - sometimes a little challenging - movement. We create spaces where people feel cared for and supported, where laughter, stillness, and self-discovery unfold naturally.

Denise - from the UK with Sri Lankan and English heritage, is a Hatha/Vinyasa yoga teacher, also trained in yin and trauma-informed yoga. Denise works as a psychologist specialising in trauma and breathwork. She has worked with NHS staff and surgical patients to bring an understanding of healing through mind-body practices, including yoga and pranayama.

Dervilla - originally from Ireland, now based in Switzerland, is a Hatha Yoga teacher and clinical research professional with focus on the spine. Her teaching focuses on alignment, spine health, and body awareness, blending practical insight with a mindful approach to movement.
